Bread is generally made by baking, steaming or frying dough. The core ingredients of bread are flour, water, salt, and leavening agent such as yeast. For the flavouring and decoration of bread ingredients such as bananas, raisins, pumpkins, onion, zucchini, and nuts and seeds such as caraway, protein, sesame or poppy seeds are also used. Breads come in a lot of variety and they differ from region to region.

Bread tastes the best when it is fresh. The retention of the freshness of the bread is essential so that it can be relished. Now days bread is either wrapped in a plastic film or paper. To keep it fresh for a longer time, bread can also be stored in a special container called as the breadbox. If the bread is kept in warm temperature, then it's more prone to the growth of mould on it. However, when refrigerated, the bread becomes stale more quickly but there is no room for the mould to grow.

Making Bread...

Making bread is not simple as it seems. The main ingredient in all types of bread is the flour. The amount of flour needed for a particular type of bread depends on the quality of the flour. While kneading some flours, the texture of the dough becomes more satin-like and rises more when it's being baked. For yeast breads, quick breads and cakes, all-purpose flour is used, which is a mixture of soft and hard wheat flours. Bread flour is very nutritious as it is high in protein content and gives the bread better volume. But it requires more kneading than all-purpose flour for the smooth texture. If you like the nutty taste, then whole-wheat flour is the best bet. Whole-wheat flour is made up of complete wheat kernel. Now days a new variety of quick rising yeast is used, which makes the bread rise in almost half the time. In Sydney people like to cook a nice fresh loaf of bread and sit at a table with some nice fresh Sydney flowers to dine.
